When you create an opportunity, under the JOINING OPTIONS section there is a field called ASK FOR REFERENCES WHEN JOINING.
If this is set to YES then a number of additional fields will appear underneath including:
- How many references you require completing for the opportunity
- What is the minimal level of acceptable reference forms (see: reference levels for more details)
- Preferred reference form
Preferred Reference Explained:
If a volunteer has 3 ‘Accepted’ level 1 reference forms (reference forms that have been completed and marked as ACCEPTABLE by the admin). And the volunteer joins an opportunity requiring a level 1 reference form, then all 3 of the volunteers reference forms would be suitable, but by marking your preferred choice, the TeamKinetic system will look for that particular reference form first before choosing any of the other reference forms.
Once you have answered the 3 reference questions on the create opportunity page, continue to setup the opportunity as normal.
When a volunteer tries to join the opportunity they will be told that this opportunity requires a reference, they will then be asked to enter the NAME and EMAIL of their referee/s. The reference form will then be emailed to the referee asking them to complete it. Once it is completed it is automatically sent back to the system and stored against the volunteer, awaiting the admin to approve.
NOTE: If the volunteer already has a reference form at the correct level (or higher), then the system will automatically put that reference form against the opportunity and it will not ask the volunteer to enter any referees details.
