About Reference Levels
By assigning different levels you can stipulate which reference forms are allowed on each opportunity.
Some opportunities require a detailed reference form, and other require only basic information. It is deemed that a detailed reference form (level 6 reference form) is suitable for all opportunities, even if the opportunity only required a level 1 reference form.
Example 1:
The volunteer has a level 6 reference form they acquired 6 months ago, as it is a level 6 reference it will ask detailed questions, so this is suitable for the system to use on an opportunity which is only requesting basic information via a level 1 reference.
Example 2:
If you have a volunteer opportunity as a ‘park manager’ you may require a more detailed reference form with more questions to be completed. This reference form may be set to ‘Level 3’, which means that only volunteer references that are at least level 3 or higher will be accepted on the opportunity.
But if you have an opportunity where the reference does not have to be so detailed, you may mark it as a level 1, effectively meaning that anyone with a reference form (levels 1 to 6) will be able to use their reference for the opportunity.
Reference Level Descriptions
You can add descriptions to each of your reference levels by clicking on the REFERENCE LEVELS button on the side menu. This will allow you to describe what type of questions should be asked for each of the corresponding levels.
Example:
Next to level 1, you could enter “Should include basic questions about the persons character. ”
It is a good idea to enter a description for each of the 6 levels, as this will ensure that your reference forms are linked to the correct level.
