Volunteers love to see their hard work rewarded and their hour totals are one of the most visible ways in which they see their progress, so its important that their hours are logged.

The volunteer can log their hours from their dashboard but these only count as unconfirmed until a provider or admin corroborates them. Only provider logged hours are used in HourTrade exchanges and most reports only use the providers confirmed hour total.

At the top of the administrator dashboard (the first screen that appears when you login) you see a quick break down of the volunteers and their logged hours and those that have been confirmed by providers, so this is a good indicator of any divergence occurring between the volunteer and provider logged hours. Usually any discrepancy is due to one or the other not logging hours, rather than not agreeing on how many hours were completed.

You can log hours on behalf of a provider by following the steps below:

  1. Goto VOLUNTEERS & PROVIDERS > OPPORTUNITIES
  2. Click on the LOG VOLUNTEER HOURS icon (you will be able to see how many hours the volunteer has logged and how many hours you are about to log)
  3. Click on either Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down to signify whether the provider recommends using the volunteer.
  4. Enter a comment (if applicable)
  5. Click on the LEAVE FEEDBACK AND LOG HOURS button.
